Description:
A Phd position is proposed at University Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris.

The full title is "Coupled adaptive methods for approximation and stocastic
error in compressible CFD flows".

Our target for this PhD is to define new coupled adaptive methods for numerical
erors due to approximations made on resolving PDE's describing the physics of
the flow and the stocastic error related to uncertain parameters or data on the
flow. We will focus on compressible flows simulation (using our in-house code),
thus Euler and Navier-Stokes equations, and non-intrusive gPC representation for
the random solution.

A suitable candidate should be motivated, dynamic, independent, willing to work
in a team.

Regarding the academic skills, the candidate should have finished or nearly
finished a Master degree, preferable in mecanical engineering or applied
mathematics. Coding skills in Fortran and/or C are necessary and knowledge of
uncertainty quantification and mesh adaptivity methods are highly appreciated.
