| Description: | |
Convergent Science Inc. has developed CONVERGE™ CFD software which is the industry leading tool for simulating the flow, spray and combustion found within an internal combustion engine. CONVERGE is loaded with state of the art physical models for turbulence (including LES), spray and combustion required to model any engine type. Included in the model set is the SAGE detailed chemistry solver with the multi-zone accelerator. Extensive chemistry mechanism reduction capabilities are also included. CONVERGE generates a high quality mesh at runtime, thus eliminating all user meshing time (even for applications with moving boundaries). Moreover, CONVERGE automatically adds mesh elements when and where they are most needed based upon gradients in the field variables using adaptive mesh refinement. CONVERGE runs well in massively parallel environments. The technical capabilities of CONVERGE are ideally suited for gas turbine combustion modeling. Convergent Science is looking for an ambitious engineer to focus on gas turbine combustion applications and help grow this business segment. The position will require a self-motivated individual eager to contact various companies and explore opportunities for CONVERGE CFD software. This is an excellent opportunity to be on the ground floor of a new business endeavor within a growing and stable organization. Client visits, sample problem solution, presentation creation, generation of marketing material, attending trade shows, conducting software training, writing technical papers, providing technical sales support will all be required on a regular basis. The technical sales engineer will report directly to an owner of Convergent Science Inc. This position will be located in the vacation town of New Braunfels, Texas down the street from world famous Gruene Hall and the Guadalupe River. It is also possible that the position be located in the Convergent Science Headquarters of Middleton, Wisconsin. Requirements - Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Mechanical or Aerospace engineering or a related discipline; and - At least three years of experience working in gas turbine combustion CFD modeling - Knowledge of Lagrangian spray models used in CFD - Knowledge of detailed chemistry combustion modeling - Knowledge of massively parallel processing - Familiarity with the gas turbine combustion CFD modeling community a plus - A track record of publishing technical papers related to gas turbine combustion modeling a plus Please send resume and references to: Dr. Daniel Lee, dlee@convergecfd.com |
