MetroLasers is seeking a Research Associate in Computational Fluid Dynamics to work on a project on modeling rough wall, turbulent flows. The position will require OpenFOAM user coding, mesh generation and Reynolds averaged model development.
The position has scope for original research, publication, attending conferences, etc. The researcher will be located in Ames IA and will work with Prof. Paul Durbin, of Iowa State University. Other participants in this project will conduct experiments that the research associate will use for validation studies, and will help to design.
Experience in Reynolds averaged modeling, turbulence simulation, CFD applications, C++ programming, mesh generation is desired. It is expected that the applicant will have a PhD or MS degree.
Position is open to US citizens and permanent residents.
