Postdoctoral research associate in CFD Simulation with lattice Boltzmann method
Dr. Lai, C K Alvin group at City University of Hong Kong is seeking outstanding
candidates for a postdoctoral /senior research associate position in
computational fluid mechanics.
The position is funded by the National Science Foundation of China for new
developments of technologies in aerosol and is available from Spring 2014. The
project aims at investigating the effects of V-shaped riblets and electrostatic
field on deposition of ultrafine particles (UFPs) in ventilation duct
numerically and experimentally.
The applicant must have previous knowledge and programming techniques in
lattice Boltzmann approach which is very important for this project.
The postdoctoral /senior research associate will work on the following topics:
(1) Numerical simulation of airflow over riblet-covered surface in ventilation
(2) Numerical simulation of dispersion and deposition of UFPs in ventilation
duct under the influence of riblet and electrostatic field.
We expect the applicant:
(1) fluent in CFD modeling with lattice Boltzmann method;
(2) has received (is going to receive) a PhD in building engineering,
environmental engineering , mechanical engineering, or related fields;
(3) has advanced knowledge of fluid mechanics;
(4) has good experience in code development with C++;
(5) knowledge of aerosol science is a plus.
