As a member of the FFT staff of world-class experts in acoustic simulation, the
CFD Specialist to be recruited will work in the Product Development Group (PDG),
which is in charge of ACTRAN software product development. As a technical
specialist in CFD, he/she will be providing CFD solutions to validate new
developments, perform additional investigations based on his/her experience and
participate to some advanced projects related to aero-acoustic numerical
simulation. In this context, the focus of his/her work will be the modeling of
stationary or unstationary flows in complex geometries, more precisely the
identification of the best solution to feed the aero-acoustic capabilities of
the ACTRAN software product. Those include - but are not limited to - flow
mapping techniques for convected acoustic propagation, noise sources from
turbulent flows, axial/radial fan modeling. Depending on his/her skills, he/she
might be involved in Product Development activities. Partnerships with
management and sales personnel from FFT and MSC will also be present.
1. Product Management -- participation to the specification of the software
capabilities and release contents, quality assurance, validation of new features
and bug tracking. 2. Project and Support -- participation to advanced project
and benchmarking as well as second-line support to customers. 3. Product
Development (if applicable) -- participation to high-level development,
including feasibility studies about new modeling strategies in aero-acoustics,
participation to research projects, implementation and validation of
computational algorithms, bug fixes.
Master's degree or PhD in mechanical engineering, with an emphasis in
Computational Fluid Dynamics, more precisely unsteady CFD simulation.
Knowledge of CFD and competence in one or two widely-used CFD software suite
Excellent interpersonal skills, solution-oriented attitude, quality awareness,
team spirit and flexibility.
Strong desire to learn.
Ability to analyse, synthetize and present simulations result in appropriate
written and spoken formats.
Acoustic and/or structural finite element modeling.
Knowledge of numerical simulation tools: ACTRAN, NASTRAN or other similar CAE
Knowledge of programming languages: Python, C++, Matlab.
