Computational Fluid Dynamics Specialist

Position Description

Combustion Science & Engineering, Inc. (CSE) is looking for an aeronautical,
chemical, or mechanical engineer with a strong background in computational fluid
mechanics and turbulence modeling to join our growing firm.  Computational
experience in turbulent reacting flows with demonstrated ability to investigate,
model, and provide critical insight into complex physical phenomena is a must. 
Candidate should have a M.S and/or Ph.D. with an emphasis on computational
methods.  A record of publication is a plus.  Background in combustion and heat
transfer with experience in commercial CFD codes (e.g. Fluent, OpenFoam) is
highly desirable.  Additional background in CFD fire models (FDS) research and
development is of interest.  U.S. citizenship is preferable. Ideal candidates
will possess the following skills:

Master of Science in Engineering or appropriate discipline.
Desire and ability to learn unfamiliar topics.
Ability to work well in teams and interact with co-workers and clients.
Strong background in fluid dynamics, combustion, heat transfer, and numerical
3 years of experience using numerical simulations to solve/study thermo-fluid
problems (industrial and/or academic).
Basic knowledge of C++ (preferred) and/or Fortran, and Matlab.
Must know some Linux and how to use a CAD package.

Ph.D. in Engineering or appropriate discipline
Strong background in the numerical modeling of turbulent flows, combustion,
multiphase flows, and/or compressible flows.
5+ years of experience using numerical simulations to solve/study thermo-fluid
problems (industrial and/or academic).
Experience using CFD codes (e.g., Fluent, StarCCM+, OpenFOAM) and meshing software.
Strong knowledge of C++, Fortran, and Matlab.
Programming experience with OpenFOAM.
Can manage a Linux cluster.
