About CFD-Wiki

• CFD-Wiki is a free website written by thousands of volunteer authors from around the globe.
• All content is available freely under the Gnu Free Documentation License, the same license as Wikipedia uses.
• 2,500 people every day read a total of 5,000 CFD-Wiki per day. Hence, it is a good place to earn recognition and get more well known in the CFD world.
• Make sure that your own models and methods are correctly described in CFD-Wiki. CFD-Wiki pages get a very high ranking at search engines like Google.
• CFD-Wiki needs more contributing authors. So please help to inform CFD experts and potential new authors about CFD-Wiki.
• CFD-Wiki currently contains more than 240 CFD articles.
• The content of CFD-Wiki covers the following areas:
  • A reference section for areas like fluid dynamics, turbulence modeling, numerical methods, meshing and more.
  • A section on special topics like combustion, turbulence theory, parallel computing and more.
  • Best practice guidelines for certain application areas - see for example the turbomachinery best practice guidelines.
  • A large section on validation and test cases suitable to benchmark CFD codes with.
  • A code section with information about CFD codes and a source code archive where people can share their codes and scripts.
  • A section describing the history of CFD
  • A FAQ section with a general CFD FAQ and code specific FAQ's for codes like CFX, Star-CD and FLUENT.

Adding things to CFD-Wiki

You can add or change anything you want in CFD-Wiki. For an overview of how to get started as a CFD-Wiki author see the getting started page. There is also a wish list in CFD-Wiki. Here are a few suggestions on things that need to be done:

• Write something about basic fluid dynamics in the fluid dynamics section
• Document a validation case in the test case section.
• Describe a turbulence model in the turbulence modeling section
• The numerics section needs a lot of additions.

Professors and teachers are very welcome to advice their students to contribute to CFD-Wiki in assignments or project works.
