Welcome to CFD-Wiki - a CFD Online project to create the ultimate, free Computational Fluid Dynamics reference. CFD-Wiki is written and edited by hundreds of volunteers from around the globe. Please join us and contribute something today! You can also help us by donating your reports and theses. We are currently working on 570 articles. This Wiki is very much in its early stages and was launched publicly on Nov 20.

Turbulence

Turbulence is that state of fluid motion which is characterized by apparently random and chaotic three-dimensional vorticity. When turbulence is present, it usually dominates all other flow phenomena and results in increased energy dissipation, mixing, heat transfer, and drag... more

This excellent introduction to Turbulence, based on a text by Prof. William K. George, is a good start for any beginner in fluid dynamics. The full text is not available yet but it is still worth a visit.
