The development of an Open Source CFD Software, OpenFlower, was launched on March 1st, 2004 ! Written in C++ for Linux platforms, it will be designed for dealing with arbitrary complex grids with a finite volume approximation : unstructured meshes consisting of tetrahedra, prisms, pyramids or hexahedra will be possible. Its main purpose is to solve turbulent flows in the incompressible unsteady Navier-Stokes assumption. Turbulent flows will be handled using Large Eddy Simulation techniques.
The initial development team, made up of four french research engineers, is willing to invite other developpers to join this project !
Information on the OpenFlower CFD project can be found on SourceForge.net server, together with all source files.
