PRELIMINARY AGENDA ANNOUNCED FOR EUROPEAN BUILT ENVIRONMENT CAE CONFERENCE IN LONDON Over 30 Papers from 14 Nations to be Presented at First-Ever Commercial Engineering Simulation Industry Forum

SHEFFIELD, U.K. – April 22, 2008 – ANSYS, Inc., a global innovator of simulation software and technologies designed to optimize product development processes, today announced the preliminary agenda for the world’s first commercial computer-aided engineering (CAE) conference dedicated to the building services industry. Providing a forum for the application of engineering simulation technology specific to the industry, the European Built Environment CAE Conference (EBECC) will be on June 5 and 6, 2008 in London.

Over 30 papers will be presented at the EBECC, with expert speakers from Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Switzerland and the U.K. in Europe, plus Israel and the U.S.A. Each of the presenters represents a leading company or institution involved with advanced engineering simulation in the built environment. Keynote speakers at the event will be Jacqueline Balian of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) from the UK discussing sustainability and its implications for engineering simulation; Fahim Sadek of the National Institute of Standards and Technology in the U.S.A presenting an engineering simulation investigation of the collapse of the World Trade Center in New York on September 11, 2001; and Darren Woolf of ARUP in the U.K., who will discuss the variety of applications for CAE software in the built environment.

Other presentations will focus on a range of topic areas including fire and smoke analysis, ventilation and occupant comfort, pedestrian comfort, wind engineering, tunnels and underground buildings, equipment, building optimisation and sustainability. Many of the presentations will be offered in parallel sessions, giving attendees the opportunity to tailor the schedule to meet their own personal areas of interest. There will also be a poster session offering attendees a number of interesting and diverse case studies via brief snapshots that show the breadth of potential applications. In addition, the event features a Partner Pavilion that will showcase complimentary hardware and software suppliers.

EBECC presentations are designed to address industry requirements, demonstrating how analysis has contributed to design and engineering processes and helped assure that operational performance is not compromised. Papers will be given on specific technologies and case studies that highlight best practice, demonstrating both the engineering and business case for the application of engineering simulation.

EBECC is designed to attract a diverse range of stakeholders, providing a rare opportunity to network with directors, managers, partners, associates, consultants and engineers from industry-leading companies.

As part of the event, an evening dinner will be held on the first night of the conference, set in the dramatic surroundings of the Tower of London, located in London’s oldest financial district. The night will begin with a tour of the crown jewels in the Jewel House followed by a reception in the White Tower, which was completed in 1087. The evening will finish with dinner served in The New Armouries.
