Date:Tue, 23 Jul 2002, 2:20 a.m.

es-uhood is an advanced meshing and analysis setup tool for Underhood Thermal Management. It is one of the Expert Systems graphical user interface tools (ES Tools) incorporated into pro-am in order to simplify the CFD process while providing accurate, cost-effective, and timely results. es-uhood in particular is designed to produce a high quality grid for vehicle underhood flow simulations encountered frequently in industry. It can also aid in the physical model setup and analysis post-processing, including design modifications based on previous results.

The course content includes:

o CAD/Surface data import

o Custom mesh generation (utilizing localized automated surface based refinements)

o Surface wrapping

o Mesh generation (including parallelization of the process), complete with subsurface/extrusion methodology

o Heat exchanger and fan inclusion

o Analysis setup and post processing

o Troubleshooting methodology, mesh/analysis debugging

Course Material:

The course includes a color copy of the es-uhood manual and tutorial set covering the basics of es-uhood meshing and analysis.

Course Prerequisites:

o A working knowledge of STAR-CD and pro-am

o No prior knowledge of es-uhood is required

If you are interested in attending or obtaining more information then please contact Scott Wilensky on 631-549-2300 x208 or email training@adapco.com. The class will take place in Plymouth, MI on August 19th-21st 2002.
