OpenFOAM: A Two-Day Advanced Course, Sep 2011, Sweden

This course will take place during Gompute User Meeting 2011. Gompute User meeting, also known as SIMDI, is the Fair for Simulation and Data Intensive Applications organized by Gompute

This two-day course is delivered by Henrik Rusche, partner at Wikki Ltd and collaborator of Prof. Hrvoje Jasak. Over the two days, attendees will be involved in an advanced course summarized as: - Advanced OpenFOAM features - Programming sessions - ½ day clinic

Topics to be covered include:

FIRST DAY:

- Overview of OpenFOAM structure - Five basic classes in detail: Space and Time Computational Mesh Field Variable Matrix and Linear System Discretisation Method - Dynamic mesh features in OpenFOAM: automatic mesh motion and topological changes; dynamic mesh classes. - Theory, implementation and use of General Grid Interface (GGI) features in turbomachinery simulations. Hands-on session: GGI in practice - Programming in OpenFOAM: implementation of function objects; a new boundary condition; adding physical model to run-time selection tables

SECOND DAY CLINIC:

The attendees are asked to bring their day-today problems on the laptops. This session will be hands-on. The tutor will be available to help and answer specific questions. The clinic aims to provide valuable insights on how to tackle your problems in OpenFOAM.
