OpenFOAM: a two-day advanced course, Nov 2011, Germany

This two-day course is delivered by Henrik Rusche, partner
at Wikki Ltd and collaborator of Prof. Hrvoje Jasak.

Description:

 

Over the two days, attendees will be involved in an advanced
course summarized as:

- Advanced OpenFOAM features
- Programming sessions
- Half day clinic

FIRST DAY:
- Overview of OpenFOAM structure
- Five basic classes in detail: Space and Time Computational
Mesh Field Variable Matrix and Linear System
Discretisation Method
- Dynamic mesh features in OpenFOAM: automatic
mesh motion and topological changes; dynamic mesh
classes.
- Theory, implementation and use of General Grid Interface
(GGI) features in turbomachinery simulations.
Hands-on session: GGI in practice
- Programming in OpenFOAM: implementation of function
objects; a new boundary condition; adding physical
model to run-time selection tables

SECOND DAY CLINIC:

The attendees are asked to bring their day-today
problems on the laptops.
This session will be hands-on. The tutor will be
available to help and answer specific questions.
The clinic aims to provide valuable insights on
how to tackle your problems in OpenFOAM.
