International Symposium on the use of OpenFOAM in Wind Energy, which covers the following topics: Aerodynamics of
wind turbines, Atmospheric boundary layer flows,
site-assessment, Turbulence modeling, and finally Meshing
tools.
Description:
We are glad to announce that ForWind and Fraunhofer IWES
(Oldenburg) are organizing the first symposium on OpenFOAM
in wind energy. The symposium is open to researchers in the
fields of
-Wind turbines (as well as blades and airfoil sections)
aerodynamics
-Atmospheric boundary layer flows
-site assessment
-Turbulence modeling in general and in CFD/OpenFOAM in
particular.
-Meshing tools and their development for simple and complex
geometries.
The aim of the symposium is to get the scientists working on
these topics together, to assess the use of OpenFOAM in the
field of wind energy and to provide a venue for discussion
about future developments.
