CFX-5 Porting to HP-UX 11i on HP's Intel Itanium

Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. 4th December, 2001. CFX, a division of AEA Technology plc today announced that it has started a porting program for its flagship Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) product, CFX-5, to HP�s Intel Itanium chip running HP-UX 11i. Commercial release of native IA-64 binaries is expected mid-2002.

� CFX sees great performance potential for this technology. HP is a leader in developing IA-64 with Intel and we expect that their support of HP-UX11i on their new Itanium platforms will give CFX customers a stable and very fast simulation platform for running CFX-5. In keeping with the advanced CFD technology employed in CFX-5, CFX wants to ensure that our customers can make use of this promising new computer architecture as soon as possible� commented Dr. Michael Raw, Vice President CFX Product Development
