Hello everyone,
I use ANSA for cleaning the geometry and was told to mesh it with STL (Auto-STL) for later use with Star-CCM+. Cleaning worked really fine but when export the STL i have problems regarding fineness and the later meshing in CCM+. It gets much better when I i decrease the MaxLength. But then my whole model has too many faces. How can I mesh (STL) only specific parts with for example max length 0.07 and other parts with 0.5. I tried it but after meshing the visible parts always one part of the mesh was missing. Isnt there a list where I can enter the max length for each pid? |

yes its possible. you can assign diff size for diff PIDs.

In ANSA 16 you simply select the PIDs in auto-stl, in earlier versions you must freeze all your mesh except the patch you want to remesh. (Best is to freeze all and then unfreeze the parts you are working on)
