Dear Experts,

I wanted some guidance regarding the process of geometry cleanup in ANSA for CFD.

That is , when I am having a full vehicle model, and I need to use ANSA for making the model ready for Under Hood Thermal Management (Air Flow Analysis) , then what are major areas I need to look initially for making a CFD model i.e initially what all things I need to inspect in the model in ANSA so that I get model perfectly prepared for CFD analysis for Under Hood Thermal Management

Thank You...

This is not an easy question to answer in a post but I will give it a try.

Check if your geometry is clean or not (yellow or red CONS)
Check your PID list to see if you model has useful property
names that will allow you to manage your model easily.

Check also the Part Manager for the same reason. Does it have
nice Groups and Parts that can help you in isolating different areas
of the model to work on them separately.

Decide where to use Surface Wrapping to avoid compicated TOPO operations,
for example the engine and the suspensions, while try to use mesh on geometry on the clean surfaces.

Refer to ANSA for CFD Brief User Guide for list of steps to follow for each approach.

Again I have to say that the answer to your question is not straightforward.

Dear Vangelis,
Thank you for the answer... Atleast this is good to start with, for me.... And it will be really helpful if you can also brief me along the meshing process.... I mean ,before volume meshing what all key points need to be taken care while surface meshing....

Thanking You,
Sidharth
