Polyhedral mesh generation
Hello guys!!
I am trying to generate some polyhedral mesh for an in-house code. The polyhedral mesh that is generated by ANSA does not seem to provide polyhedral cells with planar faces. There are small amounts of curves, twists, distortions etc on the cell faces. I need cells which have perfectly planar faces for the application and for the code. Is there any way to do this? Thanks in advance. Looking forward to any tips and suggestions and will be highly appreciated. Warmest regards, Sanath |
Although it's not elegant, I suppose you could find faces that are warped using a check (I think this would be anything greater than 0). Then you can use the Mesh > Volumes > SplitToTetra feature to split any polyhedra that have warped faces to tetra.
This will likely make your model much bigger than you want, but it's the only way I think you might be able to ensure that there aren't any non-planar faces. Alex |
