Hi Everyone,
I have to work on the stl or .INP(Abacus) or some times 3Dxml file(catia).these files are already meshed and released file. But I have to do the geometry clean up and wrapping on this file.If there is a option to convert it to cad geometry or any other solution to use the Ansa topo functions in these files will be helpful.

Is there any option to capture the features from the FE released files.

This forum has been a great helpful to me..!
Vangelis,Your answers and solution is very much helpful

best regards,
Dhiliban

use mesh to surface, and after it output CAD stp etc.

Hi there, sorry for the late reply, it has been sometime since I last visited the forum.
In the latest ANSA v18.1.x there are two functions that are useful for this task

1) The concept of FE-perimeters.
ANSA can detect and create Perimeters from the FE-mod mesh
Use Mesh>Perimetes>FE-Perimeters Recognize
and use the STL detection mode.

You can edit the identified perimeters manually if you want.

then these perimeters will be used for the creation of Faces

2) Go to Elements>ToSurface [Per Area] select all and confirm
ANSA will create geometry from the STL mesh and the identified FE-perimeters
Try this on isolated areas, not the whole model if it is big, in order to see if the result is good
