Generate step solids in ANSA

Hi,

sometimes we need to export a geometry from ANSA to a step file.
This step file contains just surfaces.

Is there a way to export a step file with solids from ANSA?

A step file is a neutral CAD format file
You can only output surfaces, not shell or solid elements

To my mind, ANSA uses only surfaces. ANSA doesn't understand SOLID entity-only volume.
That is why it doesn't output solid entities.

Just to add to his a few years later. At least in the later versions of ANSA (I am using 23.0.1) there is an option for this.

Go to 'Tools -> Settings -> ANSA defaults -> CAD output parameters' and tick the 'TRANSL_EXPORT_SOLIDS' option.

can anyone help, how can i import .ANSA file to ANSYS.

ANSYS accepts .step file, but not .ANSA, how can i convert my file from one form to another and will it affect my meshing?
