Generate step solids in ANSA

Hi,

sometimes we need to export a geometry from ANSA to a step file.
This step file contains just surfaces.

Is there a way to export a step file with solids from ANSA?

A step file is a neutral CAD format file
You can only output surfaces, not shell or solid elements

step can contain surfaces and solids, as it seems ANSA can only export surfaces to solid.

To my mind, ANSA uses only surfaces. ANSA doesn't understand SOLID entity-only volume.
That is why it doesn't output solid entities.

Just to add to his a few years later. At least in the later versions of ANSA (I am using 23.0.1) there is an option for this.

Go to 'Tools -> Settings -> ANSA defaults -> CAD output parameters' and tick the 'TRANSL_EXPORT_SOLIDS' option.
