Good morning,
I am a relatively new user of ANSA. It's got a lot of nice features but seems to lack really basic ones. Or I just don't know how to use them. I'm hopeful it's the latter. When setting up a CHT problem you need to have faces that are overlapping be connected to one another. In ansys this is done by simply using "Share Topology" and in CCM this is done using "Imprint". Both of these can be done globally meaning you just select the whole geometry and can pretty much rest assured t will work for the whole domain. It not only works to separate faces that overlap to make good interfaces, but in the case of ANSA is removes one of the two faces to assure that you get a conformal mesh. It doesn't seem like there is a way to do this in ANSA. Support has indicated to me that you have to manually project every cut and then manually remove one of the overlapping faces. I have a hard time believing that it requires this kind of thing by hand for every one of your interfaces. This would make some things like electronics modeling impossible to complete without making mistakes. Can someone please tell me I am wrong and show me that there is a way to do this? |
