Hi everyone. I have question regarding how to release shell mesh from underlying solid mesh. I have a 3D plate whose surface has been meshed with shell elements. the inside volume of the plate is meshed with 3D solid elements. Now, I need to define contact between these shell and solid elements. Is there some way that I can release this shell mesh from solid mesh so that they have independent nodes? (right now, the shell and solid elements share nodes at the surfaces)

Hello,
Yes there is. Button : VOLUME MESH>Volumes>Release Function Name : Release Summary : This function releases the solid elements, which have been generated from the underlying volume. The node and element ID's remain intact. Have a nice day |
