Meshing of flipper wing

1 Attachment(s)
Dear all,
I am trying to mesh the flipper wing in a 3D flow volume using structured scheme. [I have attached journal file of the created wing geometry (flipperwing.jou) and also meshing scheme (Flipperflowvolume.jou)].

[I could not send the .igs file (large file size) required as input for Flipperflowvolume.jou. Please export the wing generated from flipperwing.jou as Flipperwing.igs ]

I have followed the same methodology for normal rectangular wing before for cooper meshing and it works fine. But for this problem I am getting negative volume elements in the "C section" volume when i mesh with cooper scheme.

Can someone please help me with meshing this flow volume?

cannot open the zip file.

your second journal failed with me.
Can you upload your dbs file on a share server, and give the link for download

Can you please tell me where is the problem in Flipperflowvolume.jou file. Is it in the first command for importing .igs file? If that is the case, check if you have named exported .igs file created from flipperwing.jou as this "Flipperwing.igs". And place the exported .igs file in same folder as the journal file.
Because, I tried to run it again using just the two journals and everything worked fine.

In my university all the share servers are blocked so I am not able to upload the files. But you can use this link of my university to download .dbs file (accessible only till 22nd may).

In this .dbs file i have done till edge meshing. Later when i try to do structural mesh using cooper method I get error / negative volume elements in front "C section" of the volume.

The problem isn't the igs file, since gambit imported it well, but after while manipulating edges etc...
anyway I will download your file tonight

ok I have your model.
I would suggest you to merge the two layers of volume in z-direction.
Then remesh, it should be ok.
It is from my side
If both "C" volumes are automatically set with Cooper Schema, enforce with Hex.
Then if you need a more dense mesh for capturing the wake area, then you may create a size function with the "symmetry" plane as source.

Thank you max, I will try what you have suggested and see the results.
In the mean time, can you please attache the .jou file of the meshing you created?

Negative volume still appears

Hi mAx,

I did as you suggested, by merging volumes along z-direction. But the negative volume problem still remains.
Actually, if i see the photos you have uploaded, I see the difference in the method of creating of flow volume. In the .dbs file i had sent you, even after i merge the volumes, the centre partition layer still remains. Whereas in yours I dont see that.
I did cooper meshing after merging of volumes for which i got negative elements. I have attached the photos showing the location of negative volume in "step4".
Let me know which surfaces you chose as source for cooper meshing. Also, do attach the .jou file of the mesh you created please.

Regards,
Darshan

if you pay attention to my pictures I don't have edges in the middle of domains anymore. (the height in z-direction is made from one edge, and not 2 in your case)
But I think the problem comes from the meshing schema.
Enforce the hex-mesh instead of Hex-Cooper as automatically selected
