Why doesn't ANSYS Meshing allow me to make a very fine mesh?

I'm trying to make a C-mesh over an airfoil.
The first image shows my original mesh. But when I try to increase the bias factor or the number of divisions, so as to improve the resolution near the airfoil, I get the second image. Any idea why this is happening? |
For mapped face to work, you have to increase the bias/number of divisions on all Edge sizing functions. U've probably been following the Cornell airfoil in WB tutorial, so, just increase the number of divisions on the left part too (C grid) so it'll have the same number of divisions as the wake part on the right.

Inflation
Hi ali.qasim,
By doing what our friend said about increasing the number of elements probably you will find a solution for the related problem. Have you tried to built some inflation layers on this aerodynamic profile? I am trying to do this, but I cant find a solution. Thanks, Ricardo Quote:

scipy: Thanks. That did work up to an extent, but the problem came up again when I wanted more biasing. I guess I'll have to just start learning ICEM-CFD.
ricardo: I haven't tried inflation layers. Will do so and let you know if the problem is solved. |
Just realized inflation won't work as the domain is divided into four faces around the airfoil.
