2D airfoil meshing help
Hi everyone..
Could someone please help me on meshing a 2Dairfoil in gambit...ive attached a boundary layer and used sizing functions at the trailing edge vertex and airfoil edges but i always keep having highly skewed meshes at the tip..even though i decrease the min size..i have tried everything kinda..is there something im missing??? i would really appreciate any kind of help and advise on hw to improve the mesh overall.... split your domain for having more control of your mesh.
For istance you can create an ellipse which surrounds your airfoil. Split your domain with your ellipse. Be sure the ellipse has an hollow (your airfoil) Now you can mesh your ellipse surface . |
thanks for the reply Max...ill give this a try
thank you |
Hi MAx
I have tried your suggestions but doesnt seem to work really...I have actually seeded each surface of my airfoil with up to 1000 seeds to be able to have a fine mesh near the region including a sizing function but still ending up with skewed meshes at the trailing edge... thank you |
picture please ;)

thanks again max for ure reply
heres the pic ive made the inner box as close as possible to the airfoil but still gettin skewed that the end http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/626/62801430.png http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/7158/48309241.png would really appreciate any kind of feedbackk thank you |
your box is to close from airfoil
Use an ellipse instead of the box |
