fuselage Meshing
Dear All,
I need to mesh only a front part of a fuselage. I done with meshing.. Now my question is,My guide gave me a iges file which contains only that front part of fuselage..Should i have to create a control volume for that fuselage and mesh?? or can i directly continue with my meshing .. generally, for airfoils, we create a control volume like rectangular or circle shapes etc .. should i create that for meshing this ?? using GAMBIT.!!!! I need ur suggestions and guidelines.. Thanks in Advance.. :) |
yes of course if you want to analyze flow field around it then you have to have a suitable domain around the aerodynamic object.

how you are going to segregate the base drag. May be you get the higher values due to larger dia. So may be you want to extend the fuselage to far-field and put the free slip condition on extended surface.
ohkay, Thanks to all.. Actually I have to do thermal analysis on that fuselage.. and @far sir, I hope, i can answer you when i finish the analysis
And Sir,
my fuselage is a 3D model. So can i use sphere as my flow field? |
you can use hemisphere at inlet and cylinder at outlet. Full sphere is also good option.
sir, if i keep a full sphere , then where should i define inlet and outlet
10-15 lengths upstream and sides, and 20-25 lengthes downstream
:( I dint get you sir.
i have imported the iges file. Now wil u plz help me in creating a flow field? |
i created a brick as flow field.. is it fine sir?
can you show it?
yes Sir, how can i ... shal i mail u the pic of that, or what should which file should i attach ?? ..
Sir, I have mailed u .. to turboenginner@gmail.com
