hybrid mesh generation and compatability
2 Attachment(s)
hi . me again :)
im working on a nozzle plume of a rocket . and i want to generate a mesh like this(farfield area) . but when i use tet/hybrid mesh in gambit the cell size are uniform but i want the cell size to grow (to have less computation) . what should i do ?? 2 . i have used a structured mesh for the nozzle . is it right to use tet/hybrid mesh for the farfield ? i mean is it compatiable ? |
use size function

i changed growth rate and max size in tet/hybrid mesh section . but nothing happened . what do these buttons really do ??

size functions are independant from the meshing schema.
Are you sure you set up a size function? (SGF are located in Tools/size Functions) For decreasing the mesh size I would suggest you the tet/hybrid Type Hexcore schema, instead of tet/hybrid Type Tgrid. Gambit will fill your geometry with a maximum of hexa. And finally yes, you can mesh a volume with hexa, and other volumes with whatever. |
