Hi,

I'd like to generate high quality mesh for a wedge by ICEM? (You can see it at the attachment. The flow is from left to bottom.) May I ask what kind of mesh would you recommend me to generate?

Thanks! I'm looking forward to your answer.

diamondx will become famous soon enough
easy geometry and very suitable for hexa mesh
Use blocking -> merge vertices and create y-grid.
You can share geometry of you want...

Thanks for your answer. The mesh need to be inside the wedge. As you can see in the attachment picture. The hexa girds have bad quality at the up front part of the wedge. How could I improve that?

check if your edges are associated to curves. if yes, turn on geometry, and see if you have surfaces there, click with right button then "solid".

Thank you very much for your answer. I tried to make the meshes again but still not able not generate high quality mesh as you did. Here is my mesh. You can see I always have problem at the frontal part (edge part) of the wedge . May I ask you how to solve this problem?

Best regards,
lnk

I guess in ur case angle is very sharp. You can use wedge elements (prisms) instead of hex for very sharp angle (Simon suggested in one of the posts on this forum) to control the quality.

There is still an importand difference between your blocking and the one suggested by Far.
Merge the 2 blocks at the sharp edge just like Far did.

@flotus1 I didn't observe this difference.
@Ink : You must use Quarter ogrid or Y-block

Procedure is explained in detail here

I think Flotus is correct. There is a significant difference between our meshes. I learnt your link but still not able to generate meshes like you. May I ask you to show your block?

Best regards and many thanks,
