Meshing Advice
1 Attachment(s)
I am doing some solidification modeling in ansys fluent and newbie in fluent too. Could any one please help me to resolve this error;

" Model information is incomaptible with incoming mesh"

I have attached image also. I have one fluid domain (at top) and second is solid domain. There is interface between them which is defined also by named selection method for each domain.symmetry, opening and wall boundaries along with interface boundary have been chosen by name selection method.

Any suggestions please....

Thanks in advance

This error occurs when you load a mesh in Fluent (in workbench), then change the named selections in ansys meshing and restart fluent.
The mesh which is loaded in fluent from the last start is in fact incompatible with the new mesh.

The only solution I know is to reset the fluent node in workbench. Be careful this deletes the whole setup in fluent, so don't do itif your setup is complex.

I would appreciate if someone has a better solution to this problem.

Thank you for your reply. I did reset again the mesh(in workbench),cleared generated data also. But after "name selection" again and meshing again, error is also same :). Do you think i should make geometry again, i mean restart the process in ansys fluent??

Thanks in advance

I think you got me wrong.

After starting Fluent for the first time in a workbench environment with a conneected mesh node, the mesh is loaded into fluent.
Now resetting the mesh node and altering the named selections will make the new mesh incompatible with the old one already loaded in fluent.

It is the fluent node which has to be reset in order to get the new mesh loaded properly.

Another thing you could try (this should work without resetting the simulation setup) is to replace the mesh in fluent.
Go to ->mesh ->replace and browse the folders created by workbench for the mesh file.

Hi Flotus
Thanks a lot. It worked. I started over and deleted the old files from directory.

Thanks again.
