Quality of the ICEM mesh

HI, everyone!

I made a mesh in the ICEM, but I don't know if the quality of the mesh is good. could it can be used in the Fluent. The results is like this...

Hi,

I work on CFX. For CFX, the mesh quality need to be above 0.5. I think for Fluent, it's quite the same. So in my view, you need to improve the quality. (P.S. My tutor told me that, for most of the problem we need to avoid using tetra mesh as much as possible to have the accurate solution.)

Best,
lnk

Thanks your advice.
I tried to use blocking to make the mesh, and what I can get is hexahedron. I thought tetra mesh is better, so I gave up the blocking. Do you think which one is better to get better quality?

THANKS!

A block structured mesh will always be able to give better quality solutions than a tetra/hexa unstructured mesh (assuming that the grid spacings don't expand to quickly, are orthoganal etc.), you could use a block structured mesh for your geometry.

From your picture, I think your geometry is very simple to generate hexa mesh. Would you like to share your file? We may solve this problem for you.

If you become good at hexa mesh, you will always have a way to improve quality. But you may spend more time on mesh generation.

Best regards,
lnk

I'd like to upload the file, but the uploading keep failing...
