good afternoon
I'm trying to learn ICEM, one of my teacher told me to get used with this tool cause it's easier than ansys meshing to work with wings and airfoils. I searched for tutorials on youtube and in ansys documentation but all the tutorials start with the geometry already in ICEM. My questions are: 1- If I do the geometry (wing) on Solidworks or Inventor, What 're the formats that I can import to ICEM ?? 2- The domain is usually done on ansys modelling or in ICEM ?? I Know these are very basic questions but the answers will help me a lot. thanks |

thanks for the answer !! What I called domain, is the space the air would fill. I usually compare the domain with the wind tunnel test zone in real life. Is it done in ICEM ? thanks |

the domain should be around 5-7 times chord length upstream, 15-20 times downstream and at least 2 span lengths is span direction.
