Hi everyone,
I am trying to apply periodic BC for both sides of this geometry. Thus, match control is required for both sides of this part. 1)The hex dominant(I would like to have hex mesh on piston bowl) method is used to piston bowl(bottom part) and the combination of mapped and sweep mesh is used to wall(upper part). But like what this picture shows, match control failed. 2) When I changed the mesh of piston bowl back to tet mesh, I got a wrong message I have never seen before. Any one knows reasons for this? What is the general way for multi-body part to create match control? Thanks in advance! I know this post is a month old, but I was looking through ANSYS Meshing questions.
If your geometry is periodic and axi-symmetric within that periodicity, you should be able to apply cyclic symmetry instead of match control. Cyclic symmetry automatically enforces match controls |
