Hexa mesh 4 to 1 issue Gambit-ICEM

Dear Experts,

Does anyone know how to built similar mesh in ICEM, GAMBIT allows to do that but as I was said it is a tricky to do that. Could you please take a look on the picture attached. This is cut-plane of hexahedral mesh. Any suggestions are very welcome.

Thank you for reading and attempts to help!

Suggestion: research TGrid hexacore meshing. :) (even thought this looks like a cut cell cartesian also available in ANSYS Meshing)

Yea, you can use ICEM CFD Hexa with 2 to 1 grid refinement,

But the easiest way to get what you had (the child of that tool in Gambit) is the hexa core or Cut cell meshing available in ANSYS meshing or TGrid.

This is doable using Cart3D in ICEM. Not easy, but doable.

Dear Simon,

I'm new to ICEM, so could you please give me the direction of how to do it where to find the answer, tutorials video whatever.
I tried to refine hexa but it refines with tetras. May be I misunderstand something?

Thank you!

Under hexa blocking tab you can find an option to refine... You select blocks and give refinement ratios like 1/2 or 1/3.

Best regards,

Simon
