How to create a uniform triangular mesh with specified number of nodes in ICEM 13.0?

Hi everyone:

I'm pretty new to ICEM CFD (version 13.0). I have had no problem creating quite complex meshes, but cannot figure out how to make this simple one (described below) for testing some code.

I have made a rectangular surface. I would like to mesh it with triangles. The triangles all need to be the same size (uniform mesh). The long dimension of the mesh should have 101 nodes and 100 triangles. It does not matter how many layers of triangles are present in the short dimension (as long as there are at least five).

I cannot figure out how to do this.

In "Curve mesh setup" under the "Mesh" menu, it is possible to select the top and bottom curves and specify a number of nodes. I did this and then selected "remesh attached surfaces." But the mesh created is not uniform and there are not 101 nodes along each curve.

If anyone could provide any help, I would be very grateful.

You need to use one of the patch conforming surface methods. You could try the all tri method, or you could try a quad method and force mapped meshing, then you could edit mesh to convert quad to tri...
