Hi all,

I am trying to build a mesh for a turbine blade, including three separate volumes: solid, external fluid and cooling channels. All this using hexa meshing.
I started from a 2D blocking and then I extruded it in the radial direction.

The problem I am having is that ICEM seems to mesh only the surfaces but not the interior of the volumes. (the number of nodes is too low and I cannot visualize cut planes of the pre-mesh).

Anyone has any idea what the problem could be? Can it be due to the fact that I started with a 2d blocking?

Thanks a lot

Rob

Hi all,

I seem to have solved the problem. In case enyone will need it in the future.
I don't know why but the problem was that I was generating a pre-mesh without having the blocks displayed in the "blocking" section.

After displaying the blocks and refreshing the pre-mesh everything worked.

Hope it helps.
