Hi,

I am using ICEM to generate prism/tetra meshes, and have two questions about the mesh smoothing:

1, can I switch off the smoothing function during the generation process because I found that the smoothing process is very slow. I will do it after the mesh is complete. Will this affect the mesh quality?

2, In some cases, while smoothing the meshes, from the histogram, the quality is from 0.3-0.9. However after I smoothed it, the quality is from 0 to 1. Does it mean that actually the smoothing is not necessary?

3, when I smooth the mesh, I always found that the meshes close to the corner (two walls' intersection) have bad quality. I have aleady set the Orth Weight and fillet ratio to be 0.1 and 1.0, respectively. The first layer height is 0. Does anyone know what is the reason for this?

Thank you very much.

hz
