how to reduce fine mesh in the centre of the hydrocyclone

hi,

I got one mesh problem in the hydro cyclone. I used tetra/ hexa mesh for the hydro cyclone. I got the finer mesh at the hydro cyclone walls on both sides but I could not able to make coarse mesh at the centre of the hydro cyclone where the air core will be formed. I want to connect/ associate two edges which are in adjacent to each other. I found one option in blocking i.e there is a link edge. I used that option even though I could not connect the two edges. I used another option i.e I merge two blocks of respective edges, in that case I joined the two edges at the top of the pipe but I could not find the joint between the two edges at the bottom of the pipe. could help me regarding this query as soon as possible.
