I have done a mesh of a nozzle with a lateral injection. Now i have to simulate a similar geometry: the same nozzle, only changing the inclination of the lateral injectior. Is there a rapid way to export blocking and/or everything possible to this new geometry?

import the geometry and use re-associate option in blocking.

During import, you can also associate the new geometry file with the old tetin file so all the family sizes, etc. are preserved... This is an option near the top of the import DEZ.

Then load the old blocking file and update the associations.

If they don't all auto associate properly, you can use the interactive controls to adjust things...

Thank you Simon. But I still do not understand how to do it. I opened ICEM (version 14), and I could not find the option near the top of the import DEZ. Can you explain a little bit more details. Thank you.

@llrr,

I guess I was thinking of the line in the workbench readers... (not in the old geometry readers).

Here you can import a geometry and say that you want the parts and sizes to come from an existing tetin file...

SizesFromTetinFile.jpg

However, you can also do this after importing the new geometry from any method or even after creating geometry in ICEM CFD. It is based on part names, so set those up to match your reference geometry. Then go to File => Import Geometry => Reference Geometry and select the Tetin file that is setup as you like...

Hi Simon, thank you very much for your information. It is very useful information to me.

Hi, Simon. Can you explain procedure of exporting blocking/mesh for a similar geometry more detailed yet? So I create first icem project with а geometry and blocking. Than I create second icem project with а similar geometry and the same parts as in а first project. After that in а second project I import reference geometry from a first project (File => Import Geometry => Reference Geometry and select the Tetin file), load blocking from a first project (File=>Blocking=>Open Blocking) and try to update associations (Blocking->Associate->Update Association->Update Blocking). I expect: blocking associate to new geometry. I obtain: blocking is associated to the random nearest entities. Where is a problem? Thank you.
