Feature In Icem CFD

While working on ICEM i've always wanted a zoom+pan function while scrolling the middle button instead on using the Ctrl button to pan. Something like in google map, rolling forward with the scroll wheel and it will zoom in on the spot your mouse is over, roll back and you'll zoom out... Do you guyz think it's a good idea. Don't know if it's doable. can't get the poll feature to work, like this post instead

yeah well not all of us have it... i also love how google map and pro/e can do it without the 3dconnexion

what is your middle button set to at the moment?
The default is pan and the scroll will zoom.
I can zoom and pan around without pressing ctrl using only the middle button.

they have the spacenavigator for under $100.
I am so addicted to it, I can not operate ICEM efficiently without it. Also have no clue what the shortcut keys are. I use the spacepilot at work and the navigator at home/travel.

at least ICEM supports it on Windows/Linux (even thru exceed, was on their beta testing to ensure it worked properly, that was fun). Unfortunately CFX only supports it on Windows despite my yearly requests for the last 8 years.

the one program that does not support it and it baffles me as to why, tecplot.

about the ctrl button, icem doesn't support that, my mistake...
Yes the middle button does panning, i just think that thing can be easier with the feature i proposed, i don't see myself investing in a 3dconnexion while in university. may be i should talk to my professor about it :D
