I know that ICEM 14 has batch refinement application tool for grid independence study. Where this tool is located within ICEM CFD?

I am not sure getting your idea fully, but you can always reach the refinement tool at Edit Mesh/Adjust Mesh Density.
If you want many sets of meshes to be batch processed, maybe a script could help.

The ICEM CFD tetra refinement tool is a separate packet of code ( free, but not part of the regular distribution ) that can be added to ICEM CFD installation. It was basically made by one of our our support people in response to frequent requests for a batch tetra refinement tool. He worked with some customers to get a list of requirements and this is what we got...

BatchRefinement_Tools.jpg

We will probably include it right in ICEM CFD at some future release (along with improvements driven by user feedback), but for now, I can send it to anyone who needs it.

Since Far includes his email address, I just sent it to him directly.

But it is so small, I guess I can just attach it here... Instructions can be found in the zip file... If you have feedback, please let us know.

Refinement tool is not working. I followed the instructions given in readme.txt. When I use command in cmd:

icemcfd -app refinement

Icem opens with no icons and menu items but only icons of File menu. I can't do anything.

Help me out, how to do so.. Its ICEM 14.

Put scripts into new directory "C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\v1*0\icemcfd\***\lib\ai_env\scripts\refinement \" (for example, recommended directory).
If you haven't path in the environment on your computer, write this:
"C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\v1*0\icemcfd\***\bin\icemcfd.bat" -app refinement
Refirement tools works fine.

.prism_params file will be written when you make the initial course mesh using full version of ICEM.

The application works 50:50 (sometimes works , sometimes not). It's your "LUCK" .

I figure it out: The path of the refinement file should be minimal, avoid spaces.

May be it works:

Hey Hybrid, I can see how it could seem that way. Most of the time, the Prism Params file is considered a temporary file (it is not when you run it batch or when you run with this refinement tool).

By default, temporary files are deleted automatically. You can turn off "clean up temporary files" under "settings => general".

Best regards,

Simon

Sir,
Iam getting mesh by adding FLUID element. But the thing is only half of the body is generating mesh. Remaining half remaing as it is.

When i don't use FLUID element then entire body is generating mesh. But some extra elements called CREATED MATERIAL are generated. I was sending images of the mesh. Please go through it.

I have one more dbout what is the difference between Curv12 and tmp0012 curve. When i want trim surface through curve. When we select the curves first Cur12 get selected, then no trim takes place. We cannot delete the surface. In the next step when we select the curves then tmp0012 curves get selected . them the trim takes place and selected surface can be delated. Why?
