Mesh of rotary valve

2 Attachment(s)
Hi All,

I am new to CFD software packages, dealing with Fluent & Gambit I try to study outlet flow behavior as pulse flow in rotary valve . I make three volumes in rotary valve, first one for case, the second one for rotated cylinder and the third one for fluid. I make mesh generation for three volumes in Gambit as attached in mesh file and export the mesh file to fluent to solve the problem. during setting in fluent in boundary condition I got this note " This page is nit applicable under current settings". I have attached the files I am currently working on. ( mesh and fluent note). I need to tick but any help would be much appreciated

Regards,

did you extract the fluid domain of your assembly? Or did you mesh the solid parts?

mesh generation & Pre-processing

Dear Max,

I mesh all the separated parts for solid ( valve case, rotated cylinder) and fluid as air, define the inlet and outlet nozzle as well as the solid as walls.
can you guide me please.

With regards

Hi Diana,
you don't have to mesh the solid parts, unless you want to study solid-fluid heat transfer.
So remove solid parts from your geometry and retain only volumes where there is the fluid.
Surfaces in common with solid and fluid will be treated as solid walls.
