Hello Guys
I am new to this forum. I started using ansys 2 months ago and till now I don't know how to choose the interior of a body. Attached is a picture that explains my problem. I have drawn a small sphere and frozen it. Then I drew a big box around it and subtracted them from each other without preserving the sphere. Now I want in fluent to define the interior surface or the sphere as a heat source. How can I do this?? Thanks in advance |
on top, you can filter the selction to points, edges, surfaces, and bodies. you have to toggle on the surface selection. then select the surface of the select. right button click -> rename selection, give it a name first: like WALL_SPHERE. once this will be meshed, it will appear in fluent as a boundary condition

Thanks Diamondx but I didn't manage to solve the problem. I tried what you have said but I couldn't locate the interior sphere surface?? What can I do?

hello mr mohammed,
go to the mesh ,before you make a mesh , make a right click on any face and then select hide face ,then you can select the ball and make a named selection for it ...by this way you can select and define any part on your geometry best regards Hayder Mohammed M.SC in CFD |
share your project if you don't mind...

Thanks a lot Guys Haydar and Diamondx. I have located the sphere by doing what diamondx has initially implied and used the planes that appear down-left to choose the hidden face.
Thanks again |
