Subdomain meshing and simple Hexahedral Grading

1 Attachment(s)
Hello guys,

Here is my problem, I am trying to mesh a complex geometry as an external object in a domain. I want to have a fine tetrahedral mesh as a sub-domain near the object and hexahedral mesh for the rest of the domain around that.

Here is an example for what I am talking about:

http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/att...1&d=1366651290
The mutual influence of two buildings on their wind-driven rain exposure and comments on the obstruction factor, Blocken et al, 2009.

You can see a hexahedral mesh near the walls with some boundary layer meshing and then there is a tetrahedral mesh around it, and after that there is a nice graded hexahedral mesh around them.

- I searched among lots of tutorials and topics, but I couldn't find anything about grading in ICEM. is it capable to do this?

- and my second question is how to define two different zones in order to have different meshes types.

Best,
Mojtaba
