Periodic cl

1 Attachment(s)
Hi all,

I am new to CFD and i m doing a work on the inter cooling on a turbine blade, and i used gambit for modelling a 2D the geometry of the domain is shown in this picture :

I gave the following boundary conditions:-

1. Domaine inlet > pressure inlet
2. Domaine outlet> pressure outlet
3. The blade > wall
4. upper side> periodic
5. Lower side> periodic

After that i did export > mesh, but the file is not exporting successfully.

It is showing some errors with the
periodic boundary condition,
warn: boundary entity
periodic side shadow does not contain any valid entity and is not written.
error:
periodic boundary entities are not specified on the same boundary entity.

please help... what is the error and how can I resolve it...

thanks in advance

Do you ceate Hard Link between uper side and lower sid?

DRKIZO April 28, 2013 08:30

yes i linked uper side and lower sid .
My problem gambit: when I do the two mesh faces (face 2 = solid, 1 = face fluid), after I export the mesh file and give the conditions to limit. it gives me movaises results in fluwent.

I did not understand is that the problem in geometry creation of gambit, or bondary condition on fluent.

try to set both periodic BC as wall, and export.
If you don't get any error, then your problem comes from periodicity.
As Jamal mentionned, both periodic edges have to be linked (exactly same mesh)
