[ICEM] imprint face in icem cfd

Default imprint face in icem cfd

hello everybody .. i want to define a new boundary condition on a surface without make a new part . in ansys workbench i know i should use imprint face but in icem cfd i dont know to do it . is there imprint face ability in icem? how can i do it . thanks for your guidance .

Send a message via Skype™ to Far
right click on parts and make a new part if surface already exists. Otherwise go to geometry > create modify/surface > simple surface

very thanks , i did it and made a new part ,
when i mesh it and save as a inlet for cfx pre ,
why in cfx pre i cant see this surface ?

It is unfortunate fact that CFX does not import the boundary conditions, through it imports all surfaces, domains etc. So what you should do:

You must create boundary conditions from the surfaces in mesh again for CFX. A little homework for you

One more point which meshing method you are using : Tetra or Hexa ?

If hexa then you have to split block for that little face also and associate edges to curves and vertices to points..

i use hexa mesh , very good , very thanks my friend , i splitted the block for that little face , and associated , and now i can see that surface in cfx pre,
