Variable prism layer height

Hi guys,
I am simulating an ABL simulation in which there is a need for having a variable roughness value (z0) for the ground patch. Long story short, I have managed to do this in OpenFoam, but I wonder if it is possible to have variable prism layer height in ICEM. for instance in a desired zone on the patch "ground", I wanna have a first prism layer height of 0.1 and in the rest of the domain I want it to be 0.2. I don't want to split ground patch into two separate patches like ground1 and ground2, which in this case there would be some problems in simulating it in OF. Any help is appreciated, Thank you Mojtaba

i don't know how you can do that if they have the same name. you need to give them different name. may be try giving them separate names like ground1 and ground2. generate your prism layer, then merge them together in one part again...

Thank you, but this method cannot merge two parts into one part completely. When I do that just geometries of two parts merge together and mesh parts still remain separated. best

you can merge meshes too. in fact, mesh elements are also parts. you just need to select them. you want to merge all the prism layer into one part. if i recall well, prism are called Penta_6 in icem. toggle to unvisible all other type of element and leave only the penta_6 visible. then right button click, create part "ground". in my signature, i include a link to a guide where it shows how to select and create mesh part... i hope this will work for you
