Equivalent of 2D edge projection in 3D?

I have been running a simple 2D axisymmetric periodic pipe flow in FLUENT driven by a fan. In 2D, ANSYS DM allows the projection of an edge onto a face, which is the only way I am able to make that edge appear in the Meshing tool and assign it a name.

My question is how do I create the same projection on revolved material for a 3D equivalent to the 2D pipe? I need to include the swirl component of the fan flow in my FLUENT simulations which requires a 3D simulation.

Note that my eventual plan is to utilize a small wedge (~5 degrees) and apply rotationally periodic boundary conditions, in case the procedure is different for this configuration.

Thanks!
