hi,

can you guys tell me how to make a axial turbine blade from given blade co-ordinates using bladegen?

main reason to use bladegen is that it also builts the fluid zone simultaneously and features are easy to change using properties in bladegen.

thnx.

Hi preetam,

I donīt know a lot about bladegen but.. I think you canīt input your profile coordinates. However, you can obtain the profile coordinates of the blade created on it with (File -> export -> report)

thnx FJSJ for ur reply, but i need to build the blade from the given blade co-ordinates.

is there way to get the required input parameters for bladegen by drawing the airfoil profile from solidworks and then get the angles and all from the solidworks model?

Hi,

As I said you.. I donīt know a lot about BladeGen... I donīt know if you can get all of your parameters model and export to BladeGen. A friend of mine was dealing with this and he didnīt get it. Howerver, itīs curious that, when you have your model in BladeGen you can export all points belonging to an isosurface. Sorry..I canīt help you much more :-(

Hi Preeetam,

Is this problem of yours solved ?
Even I have to use blade coordinates to generate blade.. can you tell me how to go about the problem ?

Thank You

You can do three thing:

1. Import coordinates directly into the Blade gen. You need to follow the format (if any)

2. Import coordinates directly into turbogrid in turbo format.

3. Import coordinates in CAD software and build geometry and import into either blade editor (design modeller) or bladegen.

So.. I can specify coordinate into BladeGen to generate a blade? If the answer is Yes...Can you explain how to do this shortly? Please!

Thanks Far.

It is about the first point. I tried importing the coordinates whose file is in .dat format but unable to get the curve. My problem is more specific.

This is where I posted about my problem. http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ans...-geometry.html. Can you please help me.

Thank You so much

Hi everyone,
I have created a blade using BladeGen based on bezier blade dialog, now i am just wondering if there is any way to get (export) the points coordinate of the blade's 2D curve??
thanks

I couldn't find the option to directly import the coordinates into the Bladegen. Can you elaborate on this? The only way i know is to import via creating hub, shroud and profile curves using data import wizard. But that creates issues in assigning meridional direction.
