exporting mesh

hi experts. I'm simulating a channel. i use surface mesh in one side of the channel and then i extrude it. but when I export it to cfx, cfx only recognize those parts which I had meshed. how can I fix this problem.
thanks in Advance.

are you using blocking? can you show some pics of icem and cfx-pre?

I don't use blocking. I get one side of the channel meshed after that I extrude it. in the picture: there is an ogee weir in the middle of channel. inlet is on the left hand of the pic and it is blue and outlet is on the right hand side.

blocking will give you much better resolution and better convergence. Blocking of similar geometry is illustrated in this thread http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/ans...-problems.html

thank you. I finally did it by blocking.
