Meshing of fuel tank

Here is Hexa blocking for Fuel tank. I had to use four o-girds for the hemisphere (Fig 3) (with cut at outlet) pipe with outlet. One of them was without selecting face and other three were with faces selected. Also internal wall was declared wall by associating face to surface.

For the hemisphere portion at outlet, I have developed blocking strategy (three to four different blockings tried and finally chosen one which gave the best quality in terms of determinant 2*2*2 and angle) on simple case ( same geometry with other parts deleted) as shown here http://goo.gl/69B4U
Edit: Also used sub-topo and later on merged blocking and vertices. |

hello, my name is sari. need some help for my first time use ansys icem and join forum. i just try to learn ICEM and found some trouble. i was trying make a cube and then mesh it, but then it become worse just like you see on a pict mess a mesh.jpg
i still do not understand what is the difference between 'blocking' and 'meshing' ? thanks |

Geometry
inital main block intial main block meshing is not following geometry Spliting and deleting to get required shape approximately And now association is done. although if you don't associate edges to curves (and vertex to point) for this geometry, you will still get the same shape but it may be bigger or smaller depending how you have splitted blocks. It is for sure for circular shape, without association, you wont get the mesh according to geometry and mesh will follow blocking shape (rectangle). but after association you will get required shape. Another problem is that you won't be able to output boundary conditions if you have not done association. It is to be noted face-surface association (for 3d) is done by-default by ICEM CFD |

I need to generate a mixing column with following specification: the column diameter of 50mm, baffle thickness of 3mm, baffle spacing of 75mm, and air inlet 40mm from the base with a diameter of 3mm. The mesh needs to be very fine specially near the wall. I've attached the geo.
Ps: I have generated the geo, but I get error when I try to generate the volume meh. Cheers |

Would you please inform me if you or your company is able to help me with the meshing requirement using workbench? any possible related tutorial in the website? it seems an easy task, but there's some factors such as mesh sensitivity and 2D against 3D that need to be considered. Cheers |

I'm not familiar with ICEM. I will consider it if there's some tutorial to help me to generate this mesh and if it can be saved as a format mesh which can be imported to cfx-pre. Cheers |
